75+ Ultrabooks Launching in 2012

Before CES 2012 kicked off there were a number of articles flying around saying that two products are going to be hot at the show this year. One being HDTVs, and the other Ultrabooks.

And if Intel’s CES 2012 press event is anything to go by, these reports are correct. If you ever questioned Ultrabooks before, you can now safely put that doubt aside. Intel has just announced that so far at least 75 Ultrabook are scheduled to launch by the end of the year.

Half of these are said to have 14 or 15-inch displays, rather than the smaller 12-inch models. We can only assume that manufactures are targeting those who want more screen real estate similar to their standard laptops with optical drives, rather than sometimes smaller, more like a netbook, but with a whole lot more power.

Intel Ultrabooks 2012

2012 looks set to be a very big year for Ultrabooks, and Intel are investing heavily into their promotion, launching their biggest advertising campaign since 2003.

A number of manufactures have said they are concentrating heavily on Ultrabooks, and are pulling away from Netbooks.
